Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant is established in 1946 and has been passed down to third generation now. The restaurant is known for its famous turtle soup and double-boiled soups. The recipes have passed down generation to generation. My sisters and I paid a visit here recently. We were here on a Sunday evening for our dinner. The menu is very simplified and even stated the health benefits of individual soup.
First up is the refreshing Cucumber in vinaigrette S$5.00.
Next, we had the nourishing rich double-boiled soup- Ginseng Black Chicken S$13.00 and Cordyceps White Chicken S$13.00 to share. Both double-boiled soups served a lot of health benefits.
For eg. Cordyceps White Chicken helps to improve overall health and strengthen body, anti-oxidants, boost memory capacity and etc. If you prefer lighter herbal taste, go for Cordyceps White Chicken but I prefer the strong herbal taste from Ginseng Black Chicken. Don’t get me wrong, both soups are comforting, rich and delicious.
We also ordered 3 bowl of yam rice S$1.60 each to complete the meal. The yam rice is cooked till soft and mushy and best to pair with the soup.
Lastly, we also had Ginseng Chrysantheum Tea S$2.40.
The staffs here are friendly and attentive. The dishes are served within 15minutes upon ordering. It was pretty fast and efficient. My sisters and I enjoyed the meal and we will surely come back here for more.
