Pompompurin Café located at Orchard Central is the first Sanrio character café in Singapore followed by Hello Kitty Café at Changi Airport. When the café first opened, many queued for hours for it. I didn’t join the hype to queue and finally visited the café over the weekend with E because E wanted to take cute selfie with the sanrio character. So irony, right?
Pompompurin or aka Purin is a big yellow coloured dog that wears his trademark brown beret. And it is so cute that even adults cannot resist to grab a selfie!
The café has few types of sitting arrangements with pompompurin plush in it. Diners can just grab it for photo taking. And not forgetting the huge “Pompompurin Tree” located in the centre of the café. Kids will surely grab a photo spot there.
We placed our order and the food and drinks came within 15 minutes. It was pretty fast and I was quite impressed with the serving speed.
Chicken Curry S$16.99++
The chicken curry is surprisingly good. Love the japanese curry taste with potatoes and the gravy is just nice to compliment with the yellow rice.
Mango Juice S$11.99++
Nicely decorated dessert drinks with mango pieces and sweet treats.
Mushroom Strogano S$17.99++
I tried E’s choice of mains and i personally find the flavours are strong. Nevertheless, he commented that the food is decent.
Marshmallow latte S$12.99++

We ordered Lunch Set so there is S$3.00 discount per lunch set. Total bill S$63.55 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST. I have the skeptical impression of cute café food but turned out that Pompompurin Café food is pretty decent and not bad too. Most importantly, we went after the hype so no queue for us!
